And therefore, please feel free to use these forums even if you are not a student. *All conference forums will be hosted on Discord, an accessible app available on mobile, browser, and desktop. Instructions on how to join is detailed below. *All conference forums are created and hosted with approval from the respective conference organising committees. Purpose of the Forum • Connect with fellow conference attendees • Find potential roommates for the duration of the conference • Make plans with other attendees e.g. tours and commutes • Discuss topics related to the conference and network with peers • Share tips, advice, and excitement about the upcoming event Forum Usage Rules By using the SiM Forums, you agree to abide by the following: 1. Be Respectful: Treat fellow users with kindness, respect, and empathy. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or any form of bullying will not be tolerated. 2. Keep it Civil: Engage in constructive and courteous discussions. Disagreements are natural, but please express your opinions in a respectful manner. 3. Stay Relevant: Keep your posts related to the conference or topics of interest to attendees. Off-topic discussions should be taken to appropriate forums or platforms. 4. Protect Personal Information: Be cautious about sharing sensitive personal information publicly. Use private messaging for exchanging contact details or sensitive information. 5. No Solicitation: Avoid promoting commercial products or services. This forum is intended for socializing and networking among conference attendees. 6. Disclaimer: This forum is not actively moderated. SiM reserves the right to remove any content or user deemed inappropriate without prior notice. By participating in this forum, you acknowledge that SiM, IEEE Magnetics Society, and the respective conferences are not liable for any interactions, disputes, or consequences arising from connections made here. Users are responsible for their own actions and interactions. 7. Report Concerns: If you encounter any inappropriate behavior, harassment, or content that violates these rules, please report it to @Admin immediately. To ensure the security and privacy of our conference participants' data, the conference forums are locked. Only conference registrants will be granted access to the forum groups. Here is how you can join: 1. Contact Admin: Please email SiM@ieeemagnetics.org (mailto:SiM@ieeemagnetics.org)with evidence of your conference registration (e.g. conference registration email issued by the conference or abstract acceptance with your registered email, name, affiliation). These shared information will be used solely for the purpose of validating your identity as the conference's attendee. 2. Confirmation: Admin will verify your conference registration. The Admin team is comprised of fellow research colleagues too so please give Admin some time to get to your request. Thank you for your understanding. 3. Discord Invite: Admin will send you a Discord invite. Use this invite to join the SiM Discord space. You will be given access to the locked conference forum. Do reach out to Admin if you need help or an introduction to how to use Discord. 4. Start Socializing: Once you've been added to the group, feel free to start socializing, connecting with fellow attendees, and make plans for the conference!
